About The Position

The Lead Person is responsible for providing support and giving direction to all issues in the production areas. This person oversees several Line Leads and their respective production lines, ensuring the safety, quality, and production and communication of those lines meets company expectations. Position may require hours to flex between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift based on need.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the production process.
  • Ability to read and understand information related to production orders.
  • Thorough knowledge of equipment operation.
  • Ability to coordinate with scheduling to determine customer demands are met (rush orders, hot orders, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Achieve plant safety goals through leadership, enforcement and accountability of safety performance, policies and procedures at the floor level.
  • Ensure all associates are properly trained for their assigned positions.
  • Identify areas of concern and coach employees while also recognizing positive behaviors.
  • Provide daily feedback on positive/negative findings.
  • Drive accident investigation processes to determine root cause, corrective actions and accountability.
  • Participate as an Emergency Response Team member.
  • Achieve quality goals that meet or exceed customer requirements through leading enforcement and accountability of quality performance, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all associates are properly trained to perform work that meets quality requirements.
  • Assist the quality team in development of new training materials/methods as needed.
  • Oversee all programs for quality, providing coaching for line leads to ensure compliance to customer requirements, and engaging the quality department as needed.
  • Give feedback on the Quality Escalation program and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Perform daily quality checks on production lines.
  • Achieve plant production goals through continuous assessment of line efficiencies/elimination of waste.
  • Coordinate labor force to achieve plant goals.
  • Ensure all production lines are utilizing the large monitors to display line efficiencies.
  • Oversee line set ups and utilize floor resources.
  • Coach associate line leads on areas of opportunity (lean/waste).
  • Open the facility and start up equipment when on 1st shift.
  • Review previous shift’s performance in Safety, Quality, and Productivity (SQP) at the beginning of the shift.
  • Assess all issues and plan (RCSA).
  • Maintain continuous communication with associate line leads (SQP) during the shift.
  • Escalate any issue as needed (SQP).
  • Assist with conflict resolution.
  • Provide answers and make decisions related to production with warehouse facility, customer service, and other internal personnel.
  • Drive accountability to the lowest level (SQP).
  • Assess progress: SQP, line, Accl, job set ups at the end of the shift.
  • Start up/shut down communication.
  • Assist in implementation of plant SQPC process.
  • Participate in communication practices and tools that improve and promote open plant communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors.
