About The Position

E-ONE manufactures custom and commercial fire trucks. Established in 1974, E-ONE has grown to become an industry leader, employing over 1,000 people and manufacturing more than 400 fire trucks annually. Innovation is the company's driving force, leading to state-of-the-art fire rescue vehicles. E-ONE is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment. The Production Lead role is a working lead position supporting a designated production area, line segment, or cell(s) to meet production requirements and schedules. This role utilizes lean manufacturing tools such as Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work. The Production Lead monitors and improves processes, applies technical skills, and recommends additional labor to the Production Supervisor when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet all requirements of Manufacturing Tech Level II or equivalent.
  • Work experience within the last 5 years in the area of interest.
  • Demonstrated behavior of high-quality work and high productivity.
  • No "written corrective action" received in the last 12 months.

  • Thorough understanding of task playbooks and takt time requirements.
  • Experience using lean tools such as Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisor in directing and planning activities to meet production requirements and takt time.
  • Monitor cell productivity and provide technical or hands-on assistance to meet takt time requirements.
  • Report on cell performance, including product completion status and adherence to takt time.
  • Communicate manpower requirement variances to the Production Supervisor.
  • Work from shop orders, playbooks, red books, change orders, technical specifications, manuals, schematics, prints, and other order-related documents.
  • Follow Standard Work, including completing required documentation and conducting start-up meetings in the supervisor's absence.
  • Identify and resolve issues in collaboration with the Production Supervisor and other departments.
  • Track down tools, materials, and information to assist other employees.
  • Initiate long-term countermeasures to eliminate root causes of issues.
  • Champion and coordinate Continuous Improvement activities for work areas.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor in training and orienting new and transferred team members.
  • Perform other Tech level duties as required.
  • Perform or assist with production operations to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.
  • Follow safety rules, promote safe operating conditions, and notify supervisors of unusual or unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in meetings, training programs, and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge of changes.
