About The Position

Lead and actively participate in one or more phases of the Warehouse production operations to ensure goals are met safely and efficiently. Responsible for monitoring select Warehouse production functions to conform to company policies. Ensure team operates both safely and environmentally compliant, while effectively and efficiently working within the guidelines of the administrative policies and procedures to support the regional stores in pulling batteries from vehicles as needed. Assist the Production Supervisor as needed. Position Objective: The Lead position is a developmental role and will be expected to take on various duties assigned by Store leadership to assist the Warehouse Production Center in meeting or exceeding goals. This role will be involved in such areas as ensuring Safety and Environmental Standards, meeting production goals, communicating work expectations and assigning work, data entry and administrative duties, assisting stores regionally, and ensuring policies and procedures are being followed by their team. The Lead position may be given “key carrying responsibility”, overseeing Store opening and/or closing procedures, and overall Store supervision for periods of time. As part of the administrative objectives, the lead will be responsible for receiving incoming material, maintaining accurate inventory and processing material for outbound shipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive field with specific examples of mechanical work.
  • Computer skills, spreadsheet and reporting experience a plus.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Some understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, and SMART action planning.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities while performing quality work in an efficient manner with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work required hours which includes weekends and holidays at any store assigned by management within reasonable distance from home store.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through effective communication, positive interactions, and earning the respect of peers and superiors.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, hold individuals accountable, and motivate individuals.
  • Must keep a calm head under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation for regional travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electric powered vehicles, preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety Team to ensure team is adhering to all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a clean, safe, and environmentally compliant store for employees and vendors.
  • Responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all equipment, reporting equipment problems, and adherence to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Work with all vendors and production personnel to continually improve store results and execute company strategies.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and proper delegation of Warehouse Production Center personnel and scheduling work hours.
  • Monitor and evaluate job performance; train and develop production staff.
  • Communicate and implement policies and procedures; leads by example for the rest of the team.
  • Data entry for incoming and outgoing material into the Bill of Lading system along with managing inventory system
  • Direct and participate, as needed, in vendor support functions.
  • Participate, as needed, in production duties.
  • Monitor all aspects of production activities within the warehouse to ensure production goals are met.
  • May be asked to help with facility production activities from time to time.
  • Partner with all internal corporate support resources to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations to achieve results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with corporate senior management, which includes written communications
  • Spend at least 85% of time working with production team.
  • All other duties as assigned.
