About The Position

This role assists the supervisor in directing daily activities to promote and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area. The Production Lead troubleshoots equipment, makes machine repairs and adjustments, and coordinates activity between various shifts for smooth transitions. This position performs quality inspections on extrusion, thermoforming, and printing operations, monitors production output, and assists in employee scheduling. The Lead reviews machine output against production demands, researches ways to improve productivity, and ensures all SPC data and production reports are complete. They follow and participate in plant safe housekeeping guidelines, review Job Hazard Analysis with employees, and remain compliant with SQF/HACCP requirements. Additionally, the Lead monitors departmental personnel in the safe set-up, operation, and maintenance of machinery.

Requirements

  • 3 years of forming and printing experience
  • Demonstrated, strong leadership experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and variables.
  • OSHA approved forklift and clamp truck certification
  • CPR/First-Aid Certified
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Monitors departmental personnel in the safe set-up, operation and maintenance of machinery.
