About The Position

This position oversees pre-operation and/or tear down depending on the shift, coordinates line setup, and reviews production issues, schedule orders, and product specifications. The role involves working with other departments to prevent downtime and leading continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide. Responsibilities include assigning personnel, providing training, recommending corrective actions, ensuring specification compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation for various production aspects. The position requires strong communication skills, basic math skills, data entry capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret various production-related documents. This role is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging, requiring safe work practices and a significant presence on the production floor. Flexibility in scheduling, including working weekends and across shifts, is necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and line workers.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to enter data into computer programs.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports such as product usage, packaging, lot tracking, labor tracking, waste control, daily worksheets, and any forms deemed necessary by the Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR three to six months related work experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have Manufacturing experience / and leadership skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for documentation and legible record keeping for line, including, but not limited to, lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production and standards.
  • Must work safely at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
