About The Position

The Production Lead I is responsible for overseeing pre-operation and/or tear down depending on the shift, coordinating line set-up, and reviewing production issues, schedules, and specifications. This role works with other departments to prevent downtime and leads continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide. The Lead assigns personnel to workstations, provides direction and training, and recommends corrective actions. Key responsibilities include ensuring specification compliance, maintaining accurate documentation for lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, and production standards. The position requires basic math skills, data entry capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret various production-related documents. This role is expected to cross-train in all lead areas of production and packaging and must prioritize safety at all times. The Lead will be on the production floor approximately 95% of their shift and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Excellent communication skills and approachable.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and line workers.
• Basic math skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Ability to stand and operate tools or controls.
• Ability to occasionally sit, walk, stoop or crouch.
• Ability to ascend or descend stairs in multi-level facilities.
• Ability to occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 15 pounds of boxes of product, bales of cartons, or rolls of film.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
