About The Position

This position is responsible for general plant labor and clean-up of production areas. The role involves observing and monitoring conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularities. The Production Laborer will be trained in various entry-level production tasks and will fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and periods of increased production demands. Responsibilities include reporting equipment problems to management, completing equipment pre-shift and post-shift reports, cleaning work areas, shoveling stone from around conveyors, and operating equipment such as a small front-end loader, water truck, skid steer, and sweeper truck. The role also involves loading material onto customer trucks and assisting other workers as needed or directed, along with other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of raw material loading experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
