About The Position

Reddy Ice is a leading brand in ice production and manufacturing, known for its commitment to consistency, quality, and service. We are seeking a Production Laborer responsible for the safe operation and sanitation of high-speed production equipment and associated support equipment. This role involves performing product and size changeovers, completing production and quality logs, maintaining a neat work area, and performing daily/weekly maintenance on assigned equipment. The Production Laborer will also assist plant engineers and mechanics with higher-level maintenance tasks. The work environment includes varying conditions from office settings to plant interiors and exteriors, with exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations, electrical hazards, ammonia, and heavy moving equipment. The job requires working nights and weekends as directed. Physical requirements include sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle/feel, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing from 15 to over 50 pounds daily. Specific vision abilities such as close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are also required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Demonstrated work experience and knowledge of mechanical or industrial equipment
• Ability to learn and understand machine operation including major components and how these components are integrated into a fully functional machine
• Ability to troubleshoot & remedy basic operational problems
• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
• Frequently required to use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Required to stand, walk, and lift objects that weigh from 15 pounds to over 50 pounds on a daily basis
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Prior work experience with robotic equipment

Responsibilities

• Safe operation and sanitation of high-speed production equipment and associated support equipment (metal in product detectors, film wrappers, conveyors, etc.)
• Perform product & size changeovers
• Complete daily production & quality logs
• Keep work area neat and orderly
• Carry out daily & weekly maintenance on assigned equipment
• Assist plant engineers and mechanics in completing higher-level maintenance tasks
