About The Position

The Production Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment within the machine shop. This role focuses primarily on cleaning and upkeep of machines, equipment, tools, and shop areas to support efficient production operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Demonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shift

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage time effectively.
Able to lift 40–50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

Perform regular cleaning of CNC machines, tooling, and related equipment, including chip removal, wipe-downs, and coolant/oil cleanup.
Empty waste containers, and recycling areas as required.
Inspect equipment during cleaning for signs of wear, leaks, or potential maintenance issues and report findings to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Assist with preventive maintenance tasks such as filter replacement, and coolant management (as trained).
Follow all shop safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures (when required), and safe handling of chemicals and cleaning products.
Maintain cleaning logs, supply inventories, and documentation as needed.
Support machine operators with basic shop tasks when requested.
Help ensure compliance with 5S or other organizational standards for cleanliness and efficiency.
