About The Position

The Production Helper is responsible for the set-up and operation of all packaging equipment, ensuring the quality of products being shipped. This role oversees all packaging line positions within the plant and performs various functions including packaging, sanitation, and shipping, with forklift operation included. The position requires monitoring the packaging line for maintenance, sanitation, and packaging needs, making adjustments as necessary, and reporting mechanical problems. The helper must recognize, report, and hold non-conforming or inferior product, set up packers for all products, change packaging film, colored bands, and thermal ribbons, and pull broken trays or foreign matter from the line. They must also be able to operate the tray washer and adhere to all GMPs, Personal Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF Rules, as well as the Baldinger Code of Conduct. Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.

Requirements

High School graduate or its equivalency in experience and/or training
Ability to do basic math and computation skills
Possess verbal and written skills

Nice To Haves

Forklift experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Set-up and operation of all packaging equipment
Ensure quality of products being shipped
Perform all packaging, sanitation, and shipping functions, including forklift operation
Monitor packaging line for maintenance, sanitation, packaging needs and/or deviations making adjustments as necessary
Report mechanical problems to maintenance
Recognize, report, and, if necessary, hold non-conforming (out of specification) or inferior product including proper slicing
Set up packers for all products
Change packaging film, colored bands, and Thermal ribbons
Pull broken trays and/or foreign matter from line
Able to run the tray washer
Abide by and ensure plant personnel are following all GMPs, Personal Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF Rules
Adheres to the Baldinger Code of Conduct
Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates
