About The Position

The Production Group Leader is responsible, within an assigned production area, for performing daily operational and administrative tasks related to the accurate and timely distribution of product to customers. They may be required to perform manual production tasks due to business demand, or in the Production Supervisor’s absence. As assigned, they are responsible for performing delegated non-personnel-related work management activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of related work experience or Minimum Associate’s Degree and 1 year related work experience
  • Demonstrated mentoring and leadership qualities
  • Good computer skills and able to conduct basic searches
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven decision-making ability
  • Knowledge of LEAN concepts and demonstrated continuous improvement success
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Schedule/prioritize work within the production area
  • Observe all safety and security requirements
  • Manage customer orders
  • Perform inventory control and reconciliation/audit, track job orders, close orders, record scrap, and maintain the accuracy of completed parts and required inventory
  • Complete any and all required documentation
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of processes within the assigned area and assist operators with making decisions when troubleshooting problems
  • In the Supervisor’s absence, refer personnel matters requiring immediate attention to another department supervisor, manager or Human Resources
  • Develop supervisory skills through formal and informal training
  • Provide input on the success and learning potential of Operators
  • Uphold and promote the standards of Indium’s quality management system, including following procedures and work instructions, and recommending improvements
  • Perform manual production tasks as needed
  • Attend training as needed or assigned
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
