Production Generalists perform a variety of jobs and processes in cheese/whey manufacturing, processing, and distribution to meet daily staffing needs, ensuring product is produced and delivered according to company specifications, quality, and safety objectives. This role encompasses all skill levels, with duties expanding as skills are attained.

Requirements

  • High School or GED preferred.
  • Prior related work experience and/or training required, typically a minimum of one (1) or more years.
  • Math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow technical instructions/policies/procedures in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks and duties within departments/product lines corresponding to current skill block level or lower.
  • Cross-train and become proficient in multiple departments.
  • Ensure production efficiency and adherence to Grande and regulatory standards.
  • Execute production duties including loading/unloading, equipment setup and monitoring, mixing, cooking, testing, packaging, inspecting, final preparation, and data recording.
  • Set up, operate, monitor, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment, making adjustments as needed for weight, temperature, time, and sensory changes.
  • Perform sanitation of production areas and equipment (vats, conveyors, machines, tanks, pipes, silos, hoses, etc.), including dismantling, cleaning, scrubbing, foaming, power washing, rinsing, sanitizing, de-scaling, de-mineralizing, and re-assembly.
  • Maintain a clean working area by performing general sanitation of walls, floors, windows, sinks, scales, drains, footbaths, and electrical panels.
  • Complete all required documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting for regulatory agencies.
  • Follow all SAFETY (food & workplace) policies and procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork, logs, and data entry into computer systems (Scanworx, PowerApp, D365).
  • Thoroughly understand processes and independently make decisions affecting product quality.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training new Associates on equipment and procedures.
  • Provide back-up relief as needed.
  • Provide recommendations and feedback to Process Leaders and Managers for improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, waste reduction, cost savings, and process optimization.
  • Obtain and renew required licenses/certifications in a timely manner.

Benefits

  • Pay Starting at $25.70 and up, depending on experience.
  • $3 Night shift premium (6pm – 6am)
  • $2.25 Weekend shift premium (Saturday and Sunday shifts).
