About The Position

This is a "hands-on" leadership production operation role. The Production Foreperson, under the supervision of the Operation Manager, assists with overseeing the leadership and management of processes and associates to meet customer, department, and organizational needs. This role ensures all equipment is in proper working condition and that the line starts on time. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing and training new associates, conducting meetings on changes and job-related issues, and ensuring associates are informed and follow USDA, OSHA, and MIOSHA rules, policies, and procedures. The role also emphasizes teaching associates the importance of working safely and in a team environment.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience in this position
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate others, initiate change and perform with integrity
  • Ability to problem solve and assist with resolution
  • Ability to work with little to no daily supervision
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to implement all the rules and procedures established by the HACCP program
  • Ability to work very closely with U.S.D.A.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language
  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the role
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to demonstrate job functions in the white meat area
  • Ability to obtain a Hi-lo driver license
  • Ability to use knives (wizard and reg.) on the line
  • Ability to twist, bend, reach, and stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet cold environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting USDA, HACCP, GMFP, and Company standards.
  • Assisting with overseeing the leadership and management of processes and associates.

  • Assisting, interviewing, and training new associates.
  • Conducting meetings with associates on changes and other jobs related issues.
  • Making sure that associates are informed and follow the rules, policies, and procedures for USDA, OSHA and MIOSHA.
  • Teaching associates the importance of working safe and in a team environment.
  • Maintaining excellent attendance.
  • Maintaining good records of all production.
  • Performing other tasks assigned by Operation Manager.
  • Working in a team environment.
  • Wearing necessary Personal Protective Wear.
