About The Position
Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is seeking a Production Foam Pumpkin Carving Artist for a seasonal role. This position supports the creation of visually impactful props for their attractions. The ideal candidate will have artistic skill, a strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment. You will be responsible for carving faces, patterns, lettering, and custom designs into foam pumpkins, executing designs from simple templates to detailed artwork while maintaining consistency and quality, and following reference images and instructions. You will also safely operate hand tools and carving equipment, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and manage multiple pieces to meet production goals. Effective communication with production leads and team members is essential, as is assisting with additional fabrication tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Background in art, fabrication, or hands-on creative work.
- Comfort using hand tools or carving equipment; experience with hot knives or rotary tools preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and accurately replicate designs.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment without sacrificing quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop or production setting.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in carving, sculpting, prop-making, scenic fabrication, or woodworking is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Carve faces, patterns, lettering, and custom designs into foam pumpkins for use in seasonal displays and attractions.
- Execute designs ranging from simple templates to detailed, custom artwork while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Follow reference images, templates, and production instructions to accurately reproduce designs.
- Safely operate hand tools and carving equipment, including hot knives, rotary tools, and Dremels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with production standards.
- Manage multiple pieces simultaneously while meeting daily production goals and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with production leads regarding progress, materials, and support needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficiency and consistency across production output.
- Assist with additional fabrication or finishing tasks as assigned.
Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $18.00–$22.00 per hour (based on experience and artistic ability)
