About The Position

The Production Flow role is responsible for monitoring and managing all orders within assigned Work Centers. This includes accounting for all orders clocked to a given area or physically located within that area. The primary goal is to ensure accurate scheduling in the Work Center View (WCV) so that areas know the correct order to run jobs. The Production Flow team aims to eliminate wasted time by identifying and resolving problems, streamlining product flow, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Efficiently use Microsoft Excel.
  • Have a working knowledge of how an MRP system functions.
  • Ability to communicate well with other people.
  • Possess multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own designated work center queues as assigned.
  • Perform daily audits of parts within their area using the WCV.
  • Research and fix issues with parts in their area that are not on the queue (e.g., missed or inaccurate clocking, planning changes, QA issues).
  • Research and locate parts that are reflected in the queue but not physically in the area, fixing any underlying issues.
  • Use tools to accurately schedule machines/labor based on priority (Op days, due dates, AOG, etc.) to meet customer requirements.
  • Deliver released jobs to the first scheduled Work Center.
  • Update the status of parts in the WCV, including any issues, to ensure visibility for everyone.
  • Directly communicate issues with appropriate personnel and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Split orders as required to maintain product flow and support customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with other Production Flow personnel as product moves between areas.
  • Physically move/expedite work through shop work centers as needed.
  • Support/produce schedules for the shop floor.
  • Coordinate daily production requirements with the Shop Manager and area Team Leaders (CCs).
  • Provide input to Team Leaders regarding priorities and assist in organizing jobs for processing according to schedules and commitments.
  • Validate work order progress using shop schedules and the Expedite Report.
  • Pull work orders for redline or stop work.
  • Accomplish daily tasks with discipline and a sense of urgency.
  • Document all issues of concern and important information appropriately and accurately.
  • Work the hours required to successfully accomplish all job-related issues.
