Production Floor Supervisor – 2nd Shift

OpenworkHouston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

Openwork is hiring an experienced Production Floor Supervisor for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Northeast Houston. This is a hands-on, safety-sensitive supervisory position, not a desk-only role. The ideal candidate understands the urgency of a manufacturing job shop and knows how to lead by example—coaching employees, solving problems, checking quality, and stepping in to help when production demands it. The supervisor will lead approximately 8–10 employees, manage changing production priorities, maintain safety and quality standards, and keep customer orders moving on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, metal shop, job shop, construction, or similar production experience.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading employees in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
  • Strong measuring skills using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and production practices.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and production deadlines.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a fair, respectful, and team-focused environment.
