The Production Floater role involves training and becoming proficient in various operating positions within this manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few physical variables in every day situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Train and become proficient in multiple operating positions, including but not limited to Loader, Fiber Feeder Operator, Rewinder Operator, Utility, and A-Station.
  • Participate in all housekeeping functions for assigned crew.
  • Participate in all short stop/down day activities for assigned crew.
  • Assist as needed with logistics department.
  • Operate assigned machinery in compliance with standard procedures.
  • Responsible for operation of equipment in a safe manner to prevent damage to equipment and prevent injury to self and others.
  • Wear safety and health protective equipment as specified.
  • Safely load and unload material using a forklift and/or clamp-truck.
  • Use other basic material handling tools like a hand truck, drum truck, etc., when it becomes a more efficient method of material handling.
  • Operate a computer as well as multiple computer-based systems.
  • Keep accurate operational records as directed.
  • Show a commitment to working in a team environment, while keeping a positive attitude and a willingness to be flexible.
  • Other duties as assigned.
