About The Position

Works directly with the shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products. Must be able to interpret drawings and fit materials to print. Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment. Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel fabrication. Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics and building materials. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Must have working knowledge of welding shop operations. Position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently but also perform well within teams or work groups. Successful applicant will be safety-conscious and have good housekeeping practices. Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced. Time management.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Forklift experience required
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines
  • Blueprint reading
  • Attention to detail
  • Welding
  • Ability to work under temperature variations based on weather & production equipment
  • Eagerness to learn new skills
  • Accepting and following instructions from multiple supervisors
  • Collaboration with team members
  • Awareness of surroundings and basic occupational health and safety practices
  • Flexibility and patience for adjusting to changing customer needs
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8–10 hours per shift, with periodic breaks
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and climb frequently throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms
  • Ability to work for extended periods in a non–temperature-controlled industrial environment, while adhering to all safety policies and PPE requirements
