About The Position

The Production Expeditor is responsible for providing production status updates, coordinating special instructions, and managing customer service requests. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring customer delivery expectations are met by managing the progress of expedite orders, pull-aheads, and late orders. The Expeditor will also assist in the planning process by creating work orders and releasing job orders to production. They will support shop employees with production-related questions and ensure work flows smoothly between production departments. A basic understanding of aerospace metal finishing processes and specifications is required. The role encourages operational excellence by challenging existing methods, taking responsible risks, and serving as a role model for innovative thinking and process improvement. The Expeditor will manage schedule changes and conflicts with production leads and managers, coordinate truck deliveries and pickups, and work as necessary during critical times to meet customer deadlines. Maintaining an orderly work area, handling customer-supplied product with care, and adhering to ORIZON’s quality standards, on-time delivery, and safety protocols are essential. The role requires effective time management, professional interaction with colleagues and vendors, and prompt responses to inquiries.

Requirements

  • High School/GED required
  • Must have knowledge of industry based standards and specifications.
  • Computer experience, including Microsoft Office products required.
  • Must have ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing production status, coordinating special instructions and managing customer service requests.
  • Manage progress of expedite orders; pull aheads, and late orders to ensure customer delivery expectations are met.
  • Assists in planning process- creating work orders, releasing job orders to production.
  • Assists shop employees with production related questions or requests.
  • Interact with all production departments to ensure work is flowing in and out of production.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of aerospace metal finishing processes and specifications.
  • Encourages shop employees to strive for operational excellence by continually challenging old methods or ways of thinking and taking responsible risks to maximize results; serves as a role model in innovative thinking and process improvement.
