About The Position

The Production Expeditor Coordinator tracks project progress, material delivered to the shop floor, and assists in the issuing and return of work orders. This role is crucial for maintaining production schedules and ensuring efficient workflow within the facility. The coordinator acts as a liaison between various departments, including production, warehouse, planning, and quality, to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any material-related issues.

Requirements

  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to Operate Forklift
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Strong Organization skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two to six years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Track project progress and report on daily production hours to Production Supervisors.
  • Report delinquent work order closings and assist the planning team with timely closure.
  • Expedite missing or delayed parts to maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain all parts organized and separated for each project.
  • Verify that delivered materials are issued correctly and systematically to each project.
  • Keep track of due dates for missing material.
  • Communicate with production leads and supervisors regarding material shortages, delays, or issues affecting workflow and discrepancies.
  • Assist in prioritizing and scheduling work to meet deadlines and customer demands.
  • Help train employees and leads on utilizing LN.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S basics.
  • Update related smart sheets, spreadsheets, and tracking systems (e.g., SPS or ERP software) for each project.
  • Help correct discrepancies between drawings and BOM.
  • Serve as the liaison between production, warehouse, planning, quality, and other departments.
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure understanding of production priorities and changes.
  • Identify potential production bottlenecks and take proactive steps with the Production Supervisor to resolve them.
  • Work with team leads to troubleshoot and resolve material flow issues efficiently.
  • Support other departments on issuing correct materials into the system.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by TAS.
