This position reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager Your role and responsibilities We are seeking a Production Engineering Specialist to join our Electrification business in a pivotal role focused in Manufacturing Excellence under Lean approach and on supporting and optimizing injection press and winding operations. The successful candidate will lead comprehensive manufacturing engineering initiatives to optimize production methods, processes, and equipment while implementing lean manufacturing principles. You will be responsible for minimizing labor hours, improving cycle times, and reducing waste in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. This role bridges production development with operational excellence through continuous improvement and process optimization The work model for the role is: on site This role is contributing to the ELDS Division in Pinetops, NC .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with 3 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience OR Associate degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Pull, One Piece Flow, etc).
• Six Sigma methodologies and experience with statistical analysis are advantageous
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including fluid distribution systems , assembly, machining, and production systems optimization
• Hands-on experience with tooling design, fixture development, and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Demonstrated expertise in time study, capacity planning, line balancing, and production optimization techniques
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret production data and drive data-based decisions; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
• Excellent project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills with proven ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholder groups

Nice To Haves

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
• Direct experience with urethane distribution systems, molding processes, or similar equipment-intensive manufacturing environments
• Experience with statistical analysis software (Minitab, JMP) or simulation software (Arena, FlexSim) for production modeling
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and smart manufacturing solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, SMED, TPM) and waste elimination strategies specific to CED and Rings production lines. Main focusing on Winding, assembly, encasing and urethane pour operations.
• Design and optimize layouts, tooling designs, and fixtures to achieve maximum efficiency and minimize labor hours while improving product quality
• Drive production process optimization initiatives to improve throughput, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); conduct time studies, line balancing, and workflow optimization
• Lead design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products and process improvements, including process capability studies, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical analysis
• Manage and troubleshoot urethane fluid flow equipment; identify opportunities for new or improved tooling; support equipment procurement, installation, validation, and commissioning activities
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and develop comprehensive manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, and control plans
• Support operator training, work instruction development, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
