About The Position

The Boeing Company, Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) P-8 program is seeking a First-Line Production Engineering Manager to join the team in Tukwila, WA. This leadership role will focus on teams performing Production Engineering functions. The ideal candidate will bring fresh perspectives, curiosity, and creativity to problem-solving, with a strong drive for continuous improvement. Essential for success are technical leadership and aptitude, combined with people leadership skills to develop and inspire a diverse team towards a common goal and vision. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in building and maintaining relationships with customers, stakeholders, and peers, alongside strong problem-solving abilities, initiative, and the capacity to collaborate across multiple functions to lead the development and implementation of production system solutions.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional engineering role
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process.

  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
