About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring Production Engineering Managers (Level K) to join the 787 Production Engineering organization located in North Charleston, SC. Boeing Production Engineering (PE), an organization of over 3,000 employees, supports all aspects of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from product conception to customer support. PE designs, deploys, operates and maintains the production system that enables the build of the airplanes for The Boeing Company. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in developing and maintaining relationships with customers, stakeholders and peers, as well as strong problem-solving skills, willingness to take initiative, and the ability to work across multiple functions to lead the development and implementation of processes and plans. Adaptability and the ability to learn quickly are essential. In addition, technical leadership and aptitude are indispensable for success in this role along with people leadership skills to develop and inspire a diverse team to reach a shared goal and vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring all technical approaches and deliverables meet rigorous quality and excellence standards.
  • Directly manage supplier technical performance and resource acquisition to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Champion "first-time quality" and proactive safety standards to eliminate defects and workplace hazards.
  • Set operational goals that align with company strategy, utilizing a deep understanding of market trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and product quality.
  • Apply innovative problem-solving to identify new business opportunities and technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions exceed expectations.
  • Facilitate clear, multi-channel communication across all levels of the organization to ensure strategic alignment and message retention.
