The Production Engineer supports mechanical design and production engineering for configurable off-road and mining equipment. The role reviews orders and requirements, resolves design-input gaps, adapts approved designs, and produces CAD models, layouts, and manufacturing drawings. It verifies that designs meet functional, dimensional, manufacturing, service, and safety needs, and performs or documents engineering calculations. The position maintains controlled engineering data—including models, drawings, parts, assemblies, bills of materials, revisions, and metadata—and follows approved PDM and release workflows, including data transfer through CADLink into Epicor. It works closely with Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and Quality, participates in project and design reviews, and visits customer and mine sites as needed to verify interfaces, assist installations, and investigate issues. The Production Engineer resolves shop and field issues through documented corrective actions and ensures released records reflect the manufactured configuration. The role also improves manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, safety, and cost by capturing lessons learned, standardizing repeat solutions, and improving engineering processes. Employees are expected to communicate professionally and respectfully, prioritize timely, high-quality work, and maintain a drug-free workplace; pre-employment testing is required. The work includes office and fabrication-shop settings, with reasonable accommodations available for essential functions.
