About The Position
A leading chemical manufacturing company in the Baton Rouge, LA area is seeking two Production Engineers (one Mechanical, one Chemical) to support their high-tech powders production facility. These roles report to the Technical Manager and will drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and reliability across production lines.
Requirements
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable in fast-paced, hands-on operations environments
Nice To Haves
- 3–5 years in production or process engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, TPM), KPI tracking, and root cause analysis
- Understanding of PSM, environmental, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in plant commissioning and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily production and quality metrics to ensure optimal unit performance
- Identify and resolve process issues to improve uptime, throughput, and yield
- Lead and support safety training, audits, and behavioral safety initiatives
- Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and PSM standards
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and waste to drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to eliminate bottlenecks
- Train plant staff on technical processes and safety procedures
