About The Position

As a Production Engineer I at Takeda, you’ll provide on-shift technical and engineering support to our highly automated pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Social Circle, Georgia. You’ll work alongside Manufacturing and cross-functional technical teams to rapidly troubleshoot issues, support reliable production, and help manufacturing teams meet their operational goals. This is an early-career engineering opportunity where you’ll apply foundational engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges while developing your technical expertise across Fractionation, Albumin, and Immunoglobulin (IG) operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; related engineering or technical experience is preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of engineering principles across relevant disciplines is required.
  • The ability to apply engineering concepts to troubleshoot and resolve routine technical and manufacturing problems with minimal assistance is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly discuss technical issues, are required.
  • The ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a cross-functional manufacturing team is required.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and operate with minimal supervision is required.
  • The ability to adapt to a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including extended or nontraditional work schedules, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Related work experience in a technical or GMP-regulated environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality techniques is preferred.
  • The ability to learn and work with manufacturing systems and automated equipment, including DeltaV, PLCs, Siemens SIMATIC IT, and automation hardware, is preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and GMP requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-shift engineering and technical support to manufacturing operations, helping rapidly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during both ramp-up and steady-state production.
  • Support manufacturing processes across IG purification, filling and packaging, Fractionation, and Albumin purification.
  • Troubleshoot and support highly automated process equipment, including vessels, filtration and chromatography systems, UF/DF, COP washers, CIP skids, filter presses, centrifuges, isolators, automatic bottle openers, and packaging lines.
  • Support DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Siemens SIMATIC IT Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and automation hardware.
  • Support in-process testing activities involving equipment and measurements such as pH, conductivity, and titration.
  • Participate in safety and quality investigations, applying engineering principles to help identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing performance by reducing manufacturing events, user interventions, batch record alerts, cycle time, errors, and waste.
  • Perform operational assessments to help ensure appropriate processes, procedures, tools, and training are in place.
  • Investigate and resolve issues assigned through departmental issue logs while supporting Process Unit Team projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or support knowledge-transfer activities, coach manufacturing personnel through technical issues, develop troubleshooting guides, and share process knowledge across shifts.
