About The Position

LG Energy Solution is seeking a Production Engineer I to support daily manufacturing operations by optimizing production processes, improving quality and efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–3 years of engineering experience in a plant or production environment who are eager to apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. The Production Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met safely, cost-effectively and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment (internships and co-ops included).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude in a production setting.
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to properly and regularly utilize the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds on occasion. Stoop, twist, bend Reach overhead Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
  • Experienced with JMP, Minitab is a plus
  • experience with CAD or production management systems is a plus.
  • Mandarin Bilingual required
  • Six Sigma certification
  • DOE (Design of experiments)
  • CAD (Computer-aided design) and coding

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze production line performance to identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the production line, including trials and validation.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth and safe production operations.
  • Gather and analyze production data to support decision-making and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support training efforts for operators and technicians on new processes or equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
