About The Position

The Production Engineer I – Process position will be part of the Corvallis Production Engineering Team. They will support High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) systems, including both 55-gallon and 360-gallon filtration systems, as well as their principal auxiliary systems. They will be responsible for owning and improving standard production processes and developing new production processes according to internal and customer demand. They will document procedures, own process data charts, investigate and resolve excursion events, and generally move HVM production forward to meet the company’s goals. This role involves collaborating with various departments, independently owning assigned production equipment and manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvements to support safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent through experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate actively and effectively, both verbally and through written form.

  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to recognize when issues require escalation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-purity chemical handling in air-free environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lithographic materials is a plus.
  • Experience with PLCs and HMIs is a plus.
  • Experience with JMP or statistical data analysis is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support weekend QC testing (either Saturday or Sunday).
  • Perform routine QC testing on reagents, in-process samples, and finished goods by following documented work instructions under the direction of senior chemists and technicians. (including but not limited to GC-MS, IC-MS, ICPOES, density, titrations, KF, RI, turbidity, outgassing, flash point, and contact angle).
  • Prepare analytical standards and samples for wet-bench and instrumental analyses.
  • Prepare spin-coated wafers for analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment as needed, following documented procedures.
  • Send out analytical samples to external labs.
  • Regularly update lab inventory (chemicals and consumables).
  • Frequently communicate and engage with a diverse team of chemists, engineers, and technicians.
  • Demonstrate consistent techniques and maintain a clean, safe lab workspace.
  • Analyze data and present findings to the technical team.
  • Enter the QC data to QMS system and monitor SPC charts.
  • Own production processes for frequent, repeatable EUV photoresist batches on our production lines for worldwide customer delivery.
  • Maintain flexibility to support and streamline standard and non-standard formulation production runs.
  • Perform hands-on analytical measurements of in-process samples and other simple wet-bench chemistry, including use of laboratory fume hoods and inert gloveboxes.
  • Communicate and engage with a diverse team of chemists, engineers, and technicians.
  • Document data and ensure data integrity, demonstrating good lab book practices and quality control metrics.
  • Analyze data using statistical control methods, respond to process deviations, and report findings to relevant teams.
  • Conduct experiments on incoming materials to maintain supply assurance.
  • Create and update controlled documentation of each process step.
  • Improve data tracking protocols, including quality control metrics.
  • Qualify changes in coordination with management, equipment, and quality groups.
  • Use quality management systems to escalate process deviations to material review board.
  • Develop and update process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and work with equipment engineers to ensure capital projects fulfil Inpria’s scale-up needs.
  • Establish Theory of Operation based on P&ID and work with engineering to implement controls.
  • Develop control plans to enable programmable control of equipment.
  • Create and modify equipment with logic controllers and enable recipe control through control systems.
  • Work with other engineers to develop, construct, and modify equipment to enable experiments or batch production.
  • Work in cleanroom environments and practice clean handling procedures to minimize contamination.
  • Provide evening, overnight, and/or weekend engineering support, pending business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
