About The Position

This role involves packing windows onto racks using proper glass handling techniques, installing add-on hardware, rubber filler, metal/spacers, child security labels, and other specific items to the finished glass product. The position requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and IATF requirements, ensuring product quality meets specifications, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The employee will also assist with new packing specifications, support team changeovers, troubleshoot operational failures, and contribute to problem-solving manufacturing issues to achieve production goals. Training and encouraging others to achieve team goals is also a key aspect of this role, along with supporting safety, health, and environmental rules.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in position specific SOPs and IATF requirements.
  • Ability to work in temperatures of extreme hot or cold based on weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, push, pull, carry, lift, squat, kneel and/or twist.
  • Must be able to do repetitive work.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the position.
  • Maintain a constant flow of product for the area line.
  • Assist with the development of new packing specifications.
  • Ensure product quality meets specifications; perform quality inspections as required.
  • Pack the windows onto racks using proper glass handling techniques.
  • Use extra safety precautions when placing into cullet bins or testing for quality measures.
  • Ensure the Packing Specifications are being followed for each part being packed.
  • Support the team during all changeovers as needed.
  • Assist in trouble shooting operation failures.
  • Perform 5S and housekeeping duties to maintain high standard of facility cleanliness.
  • Communicate concerns, improvements and general information to others on the line.
  • Assist with problem solving of manufacturing problems within the teams operations and other groups as necessary, to achieve production goals.
  • Fulfill assignments/ tasks given by coordinators and team leaders.
  • Train and encourage others in order to achieve team goals.
  • Support safety, health, and environmental rules and lead by example.
  • Install add-on hardware, rubber filler, metal/spacers, child security labels and other specific items to the finished glass product.
  • Retrieve and pack product on or off of racks.
  • Fulfill assignments/ tasks given by supervisors and team leader.
  • Produce various products in accordance with all work instructions, quality, safety and environmental policies.
  • Assist with problem solving of manufacturing problems by communicating with specialist, lead, supervisor or otherwise; to achieve production goals.
  • Ensure product quality meets IATF specifications based on the position specific SOPs (standard operating procedures).
  • Collect SPC (statistical process control) data as required.
