About The Position

The Production Editor is a key member of the ACFE’s educational production team, responsible for editing, proofreading, and formatting a wide range of professional content, including books, manuals, course materials, and training resources. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop high-quality educational materials, ensuring consistency with the ACFE’s style guide and standards.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of previous editorial experience.
  • Proficient usage of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
  • Experience and familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, taking direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Skills in collaborating with internal and external resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS in English, Communications, or a related field a plus.
  • Experience using virtual event platforms, such as ON24, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developmentally edits new material in collaboration with Research Specialists and external SMEs.
  • Copyedits, proofreads, and formats material for ACFE books, manuals, in-person and virtual training events, web-based products, self-study courses, and speaker materials for conferences.
  • Assists in and supports the creation of content for ACFE course material, self-studies, manuals, books, online courses, and other publications, including providing minor rewrites as necessary.
  • Uses and adheres to the ACFE’s educational style guide when editing and formatting all material.
  • Develops, maintains, and promotes effective internal and external relationships and works collaboratively with other ACFE employees and members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
