About The Position
6abc/WPVI is seeking a Production Director to direct live broadcast and streaming news programs using both automated television production systems and a conventional production environment. This position also requires knowledge of television audio setup and execution for studio and field productions. WPVI is the No. 1 station in Philadelphia for almost 50 years, delivering local news, information, traffic, and weather to more than 3 million homes. The station serves close to 7 million people 2+ in the Delaware Valley and owns and produces the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the nation's oldest.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of directing experience in a local or national news organization
- Thorough knowledge of conventional and automated television production systems
- Thorough knowledge of studio and field video and audio production
- Ability to work nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to all crew members during the live telecast
- Experience Directing live, linear newscasts using automated production systems (i.e., Ross Overdrive, Grass Valley Ignite, Sony ELC)
- Proven leadership experience
Responsibilities

- Direct live and taped special event programs in a conventional Production Truck environment
