About The Position

The Production Director oversees all technical production for Christ Church's Broadcast Campus in Mesa, serving as the central hub where weekend services are produced and shared with campuses across the city, the online congregation, and on-demand platforms. This leader establishes and maintains the production standard for the entire organization, creating dependable systems while investing heavily in the development of volunteer production teams. The ideal candidate combines exceptional technical expertise with proven leadership, ensuring every worship experience is executed with excellence, consistency, and without distraction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of live production experience, preferably in a large multi-campus church, broadcast, or large-event environment (multi-site experience strongly preferred).
  • 2+ years leading staff and volunteer teams.
  • Digital consoles (Allen & Heath dlive, Yamaha, Avid) for FOH and broadcast mixes; Dante/networked audio; Waves and outboard processing.
  • Multi-camera live switching (Blackmagic ATEM, Ross), PTZ/broadcast cameras, signal routing, encoding, and redundancy platforms like Resi.
  • DMX-based intelligent lighting (grandMA, Onyx, Vista) and ProPresenter.
  • Networking fundamentals (switches, VLANs, IP configuration) and troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Calm, decisive command of a live environment, and highly organized.
  • Humble, Hungry, and Smart: Eager to work, dependable, and highly collaborative.
  • Noticeably Teachable: Has the humility to be a trusted expert while maintaining a learner's mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Audio/Video Production, Media Arts, or a related field preferred (equivalent professional experience considered).

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical execution of weekend services at the broadcast campus across audio, video, lighting, and presentation.
  • Direct the multi-camera broadcast feeding remote campuses and the online congregation.
  • Partner with worship and teaching teams to translate creative vision into technical execution.
  • Act as a passionate mobilizer who recruits, trains, deploys, and shepherds volunteers across all production disciplines.
  • Hold regular one-on-ones, provide feedback, and develop team leaders who carry our ministry standards.
  • Schedule production team members for gatherings and events and manage planning center for the production team.
  • Personally and appropriately engage in relationships with team members to maintain a healthy culture, provide discipleship, and develop their gifts.
  • Manage reliable live service delivery to all congregations, YouTube, and the church app.
  • Oversee streaming infrastructure (e.g., Resi) and maintain distinct broadcast and front-of-house audio mixes.
  • Steward post-service workflows, including archiving and podcast audio.
  • Own the design, installation, maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting of all AVL systems at the broadcast campus.
  • Approach challenges resourcefully, maximizing existing equipment before pursuing new purchases.
  • Maintain signal flow and networking (Dante audio, VLANs).
  • Bring a ministry-driven mentality, willingly partnering across teams (Next Gen, Communications) to help the entire organization succeed.
  • Participate in weekly creative meetings and lead production pre-service briefings.
  • Ensure the ministry assets and budgets are properly managed, while following established policies and procedures.
