About The Position

Relay is seeking a Production Designer to join their in-house creative team. This role is crucial for managing the day-to-day output of creative assets, including sales enablement materials, conference presentations, ad variations, one-pagers, and adapting assets across various mediums. The ideal candidate will have a systems-first approach and leverage AI as an integral part of their workflow, focusing on building efficient patterns, templates, and workflows to increase speed without compromising quality. The Production Designer will collaborate closely with the Art Director and Creative Director, executing within the existing design system, contributing to its evolution, and developing AI-assisted workflows for high-volume production. The core functions of this role are executing, adapting, and supporting creative initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of design experience with a portfolio showcasing craft, range, and consistency.
  • Strong working proficiency in Figma, with hands-on experience using a component-based design system.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Active, current use of AI tools in design workflow, with the ability to provide specific examples of their use as thinking partners.
  • Range across mediums, including exposure to print, digital, and web, with a willingness to learn new mediums.
  • A systems-first mindset, with an instinct to find smarter ways to handle repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail in areas such as pixel alignment, typography, and color.
  • Critical thinking and curiosity about the business, with a desire to understand the work in a larger context.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.

  • Conference and event collateral production experience.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality work across all brand surfaces, including one-pagers, sales enablement collateral, conference signage and takeaways, segment- and partner-specific materials, ad variations, slide decks, web modules, and physical/print pieces.
  • Adapt creative assets fluidly between different formats and mediums.
  • Work within and contribute to the evolution of the design system, acting as a daily power user, contributing components, flagging gaps, and helping to refine the system.
  • Integrate AI tools into design system maintenance, including running consistency audits, assisting with documentation, and using AI assistants for pattern evolution.
  • Utilize AI tools for layout iteration, asset variation, copy support, and rapid prototyping, actively contributing to prompt libraries, templates, and repeatable patterns.
  • Deliver requests with consistent quality and meet deadlines, applying the same level of craft to all projects, regardless of visibility.
  • Connect creative work back to business objectives, understanding the product, target audience, and how the work supports the overall strategy.
  • Support the broader creative team by taking direction, providing and receiving feedback, and onboarding freelance partners when necessary.
