About The Position

This position operates various pieces of equipment to maintain quality of cut materials, per custom or stock specifications, for sale to customers in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Monitoring cutting performance (deburring as needed) and efficiency are essential. This is an onsite position in Seguin, Texas.

Requirements

  • Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.
  • Keen sense of attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.
  • Ability to determine material types and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
  • Ability to read and write job numbers and label kits accordingly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Must have forklift and material handling experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to sustain 95% efficiency.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality - must not have scrap in excess of $500 per calendar year.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease.
  • Ability to work in an environment that may be either hot, cold or humid.

Nice To Haves

  • Can use a ruler, tape measure, or caliper to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerances.
  • Can compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, multiplication, and division, of fractions and decimals.
  • Understands how to manage daily work expectations and goals.
  • Understands, interprets and follows foreman's report including priorities and start dates.
  • Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan.
  • Maintains accurate and timely system transactions (Factory Track / CSI).
  • Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected.

Responsibilities

  • Deburr as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Read and write job numbers and label kits accordingly.
  • Perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements.
  • Manage daily work expectations and goals.
  • Understand, interpret and follow foreman's report including priorities and start dates.
  • Understand cross check concepts and inspect product according to Inspection Control Plan.
  • Follow safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely system transactions (Factory Track / CSI).
  • Stop production when nonconforming parts are detected.
  • Inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance.
