This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in supply chain management and/or engineering.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS office and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise.
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of skills across large geographic distances
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MES and PLM systems a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience working on development programs or production lines in both leadership and hands-on roles; experience on aerospace or commercial development programs a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, medical or military environments
  • Exhibit & encourage sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and primary responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Production Control Team of approx. 8-10 specialists (size of team may vary), including developing resource plans and profiles, authoring job descriptions, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Teams may include both full-time and contract staff.
  • Managers must lead and manage the individuals who report to them, training and developing them, monitoring and guiding their performance, and performing day-to-day managerial tasks such as representing the organization at meetings, coaching, communications, planning, organization, delegation, etc.
  • Ensure milestones/goals met while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Assist the Director of Production Control in budget preparation, forecasting, and reconciling actuals.
  • Effectively collaborate with other departments in order to maintain Production and Launch Operations schedules and material requirements.
  • Ensure continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor early career team members
  • Anticipate potential schedule and personnel risks, and generate ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or mitigate potential issues, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
  • Define system requirements for manufacturing software and work with the development team to iterate and introduce new functionality within Jules platforms and integration with third party systems.
