About The Position

The Production Controls Engineering Associate will work in cross-functional teams to solve programmatic, production/process issues, and integrate production activities across organizational boundaries. This role involves analyzing programmatic requirements through variance analysis, developing executable weapon program and work center production schedules, and monitoring routings for variance through manufacturing systems (PeopleSoft) routing steps. The position is responsible for analyzing processes through data analytics, streamlining data collection, and automating business processes. It also provides technical leadership in collaborating on transformation initiatives with various business Subject Matter Experts (e.g., engineering, logistics, manufacturing operations, production stores, program integration, and program planning). Additional responsibilities include supporting cycle time verifications for assembly, disassembly, explosive technology, and special nuclear material processes. The employee's primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the Company, including the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in formulating, affecting, interpreting, or implementing management policies or operating practices, carrying out major assignments, and committing the Company in matters with significant financial impact.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering
Data analytics using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Visual Basic Applications [VBA], power query, and Pivot Tables), Access, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with development software
Python, PeopleSoft, SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) (PP [SAP Production Planning module] and MM [SAP Materials Management modules]), Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, Tableau or Power BI, and Share Point and or Info Path
Understands basic statistics and database design and familiarity to create maintainable workflows
Proficiency in Data Cleaning, Data Manipulation, and Data Visualization
Relevant, progressive work supporting Pantex (PX) Production, Quality, or Programmatic initiatives
Demonstrates problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and improve physical and system processes
Excellent verbal, written (including technical writing) and presentation communication skills
Ability to work with personnel at all levels in the organization and across plant
