Production Controller (Aircraft)

Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command•MacDill AFB, FL

About The Position

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and receive the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. The primary purpose of the position is to develop and implement aircraft maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure maintenance is accomplished effectively and efficiently and coordinated in support of unit operational flight scheduling. The position is an enlisted ART role; the incumbent must meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements, obtain and retain the required security clearance, wear the uniform, and maintain job-specific military specialty and other military qualifications. Regular assignments are primarily ART duties, though non-ART duties may also be assigned, generally not exceeding 30 percent of total responsibilities. The work schedule is aligned to allow participation in unit Training Assemblies (UTAs). The incumbent may be required to fly on military or commercial aircraft for temporary duty away from the normal duty station, and may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. ARTs are eligible for an annual 15-day active duty tour with military leave granted at full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members may be called to active duty during mobilization for a national emergency. The position requires planning, scheduling, and coordination of aircraft and associated equipment maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled repairs, time-sensitive inspections and modifications, component replacements, and aircraft or system inspections. It also involves maintaining aircraft maintenance and configuration records, coordinating Time Compliance Technical Order implementation, reporting aircraft inventory and status/utilization, and training Air Force Reserve production schedulers. The position may involve shift work, emergency overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Salary varies depending on the position location. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized, and PCS may be paid if authorized in accordance with applicable regulations.
