About The Position

The Production Controller is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence through material flow across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Team Leaders direction. Ability to understand operational flow and scheduling systems to perform a variety of functions including being directly involved in the material distribution and transportation flow of goods that support the Company's operations. Will be expected to serve in multiple functions that involve supporting the logistical movement of goods. This role in not classified as a Safety Sensitive position under the FAA regulations and is not subject to Random Drug testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 – 3+ years of Manufacturing or Warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/ MRP experience.
  • Required basic computer and math skills
  • Practitioner level for Internal Flow & Warehousing
  • Use of Material Handling Equipment
  • Must be fluent (speaking and reading) the English Language

Responsibilities

  • Work with various departments to prioritize work orders and set-up tasks in an assigned production cell.
  • Assist supervision and workforce in the resolution of work order or shop supply discrepancies, problems and/or concerns.
  • Maintains clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
  • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied and that their assigned areas are a model of a world class healthy and safe working environment.
  • Driving the disciplined and rigorous maintenance behind the Lean Operating Model (LOM) pull system across their assigned areas.
  • Cooperate with the Team Leader to ensure the best production control outcomes for the entire Area.
  • Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensuring that all blades needed for the production process are available on time between work centres per the pull system.
  • Coordinate with management and the production control team members to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Reviewing production reports to identify any potential problems with the process and communicating with management.
  • Train new members of staff in production processes and pull system.
  • Implement improvements to production methods/pull system to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the logistical move process.
  • Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
  • Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their individual responsibility and accountability for complying with it.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
