About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Production Control Specialist in Oxnard, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support manufacturing planning, inventory control, material movement, kitting, shipping, and receiving operations. The specialist will coordinate material availability across production teams, maintain accurate ERP inventory records, and help identify and resolve shortages that could impact manufacturing schedules.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with inventory operations using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Experience with Microsoft applications.
Ability to operate a forklift and other inventory-related equipment.
Experience supporting inventory, material control, shipping, receiving, or production operations.
Ability to accurately track material quantities, revision levels, stock locations, and transfers.
Ability to research and reconcile material traceability and inventory discrepancies.
U.S. citizenship required.

Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
Kitting experience.
Experience coordinating between manufacturing and inventory operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain material requirement and availability schedules supporting manufacturing operations.
Optimize inventory storage, bin sizing, and material locations.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Production Control, and other teams to resolve material issues.
Research kit shortages, expedite missing material, and support accurate kit integration.
Maintain material traceability and ensure inventory processes meet quality requirements.
Receive and transact incoming materials within the MRP/ERP system.
Perform cycle counts and verify quantities, revision levels, stock locations, and material transfers.
Expedite materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to production and shipping schedules.
Identify actual and potential material shortages and initiate corrective actions.
Analyze material flow to reduce the time between material request and delivery.
Pack and ship outgoing orders using UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers.
Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Support projects, production metrics, and organizational performance goals.
