The role involves managing inventory levels, ensuring timely material ordering and receipt to meet production plans, coordinating with suppliers and vendors for orders, spec changes, and logistics. It also includes maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking material movement within the plant, and developing and implementing inventory control procedures to optimize levels and minimize waste. The manager will perform regular physical inventory counts, analyze data for improvements and cost savings, identify material requirements, and support production schedules. Additionally, the position entails coaching, mentoring, and developing the team, removing roadblocks, resolving problems, and developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency and performance. Regular reports on material availability, inventory status, and performance are required, along with continuous evaluation of cost reduction improvements.
