About The Position

As the North American headquarters for G-TEKT Corporation, Jefferson Industries actively participates in the Global Automotive Industry. As part of our involvement, Jefferson Industries Corporation offers design and development for press dies and other tools necessary to produce automotive products. We embrace programs for product development including product design review and Advanced Product Quality Planning. Our facilities support high quality product manufacturing, and we provide a timely and flexible approach to meeting the needs of our customers. We are actively seeking a Management Support associate to join our Production Control Department on 1st shift (core schedule, Monday-Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm).

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of production scheduling or production control experience in an automotive manufacturing environment along with HS Diploma.
  • Experience with robotic welding, resistance welding, or metal fabrication processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, QAD, or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of automotive production systems and Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly weld shop production schedules.
  • Coordinate production requirements based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to minimize downtime and meet delivery commitments.
  • Release production orders and prioritize work based on customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with purchasing and logistics to prevent shortages.
  • Track key production metrics, including schedule adherence, throughput, and equipment utilization.
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly to production, warehouse, shipping, and customer service teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and scheduling information in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support inventory control by maintaining optimal work-in-process (WIP) levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and automotive customer requirements.
