About The Position

The University of Oklahoma Division of Student Affairs is looking for undergraduate students who are located in the Norman area to serve as producers, shoutcasters, or streamers for Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation. Production members are responsible for participating in the organization and the execution of virtual and physical events for campus in need of on-site productions and maintaining a professional manner during the planning and execution of said events. This role involves creating quality videos or articles that reflect the culture and nature of OU Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation, requiring strong planning, time management, and respectful interactions. Team members represent the university and ECCI during all productions and public-facing activities. Students are expected to maintain active communication with their respective teams and ECCI leadership, responding to official communications within 24 hours. Production Team members must actively participate in official match coverage productions, either as a producer, observer, or caster, and attend Production Team trainings. Additionally, they are entrusted with the use and care of ECCI broadcasting equipment, software, and production facilities, responsible for setup, teardown, and reporting any technical issues or damages.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Must be a current or incoming OU Student and enrolled in the SUMMER and/or FALL semester(s).
  • Applicants must be located in the Norman or OKC Metropolitan area to be considered for employment.
  • Must be currently in the OU Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation Program.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of a live environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; public relations skills.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of esports titles.
  • Proficiency with Discord for communications and an understanding of social media and live stream platforms.
  • Strong process improvement skills/experience.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative and respectful manner.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Esports, the latest gaming technology, and trends.
  • A high level of personal and professional integrity at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a professional manner during the planning and execution of events.
  • Respecting all team members and subjects.
  • Serving as representatives of the university and ECCI during all productions and public-facing activities.
  • Keeping all interactions respectful and harassment-free.
  • Maintaining active communication with respective teams and ECCI leadership.
  • Responding to official team communications (such as Discord and email) within 24 hours whenever reasonably possible.
  • Actively participating in official match coverage productions throughout each semester, either as a producer, observer, or caster.
  • Attending or scheduling Production Team trainings organized by team leadership.
  • Managing live broadcast operations, in-game camera observation, or on-stream shoutcasting for assigned virtual, physical, and hybrid esports events.
  • Assisting with the setup, execution, and teardown of broadcasting equipment and software for official events.
  • Properly setting up, tearing down, and storing equipment after use.
  • Reporting any technical issues, damages, or missing inventory to ECCI leadership immediately.
