Production Buyer

Fortive•Everett, WA

About The Position

The Production Buyer coordinates products through the complete production cycle. The role develops production and supply plans based on demand forecasts, material availability, and manufacturing capacity, and maintains appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw-material supply plans. It evaluates data about processes and systems, resolves inventory, production-schedule, and materials-shortage problems, and recommends countermeasures to prevent recurrence. The Production Buyer also balances vendor, internal-customer, and external-customer needs against the supply and demand for materials and finished goods. As a member of the Materials team, the Production Buyer coordinates with factory teams to maintain product supply and quality and delivery standards, supports lean materials strategies, works with Strategic Sourcing, and collaborates on continuous improvement and new-product launches. The role may also coordinate and supervise the transfer of new production cells between locations.
