About The Position

As a Buyer, you will support procurement and commodity management activities by working closely with manufacturing, planning, engineering, quality, and suppliers to ensure the timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or a related business function preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP, MRP, or supply chain management systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers and supporting manufacturing operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions and coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, purchase order changes, and requests for quotations (RFQs) with suppliers.
  • Maintain procurement business system data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of supply chain information.
  • Create and maintain bills of material (BOMs), part numbers, commodity information, supplier records, and other enterprise system data.
  • Support procurement team initiatives including part parameter maintenance, quote table maintenance, supplier database updates, and error-report analysis.
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for assigned commodities, materials, components, equipment, and services.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned supplier agreements and procurements to achieve the highest quality at the best value.
  • Develop new supply sources and evaluate alternative suppliers when existing vendors are no longer competitive.
  • Recommend cost-saving opportunities, including make-versus-buy analyses and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Work closely with suppliers and Quality Assurance to resolve quality, delivery, and performance issues.
  • Support commodity management activities including commodity business plans, market trend assessments, pricing analysis, and product availability reviews.
  • Build and maintain expertise in assigned domestic and/or global commodity categories.
