About The Position
Safely operate various types of production equipment. Carry out related manufacturing tasks which include raw material weigh-out, forklift operation, housekeeping, shipping/receiving and facility maintenance. Willing to do any manufacturing related job as needed; examples are warehousing, housekeeping, and forklift operation. Ability to utilize basic computer skills. Training is provided in the operation of the equipment and forklift if an applicant is otherwise qualified.
Requirements
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. for various lengths of time
- Comfortable operating all production equipment and driving a forklift
- Capable of multitasking
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
Nice To Haves
- Current OSHA forklift driver certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Operate machines that mix powdered metals/polymers and extrude into sheeted rolls used in the manufacture of radiation protective garments and shielding.
- Set and adjust controls to regulate mixing and extrusion process.
- Specify lengths and weights of rolls.
- Synchronize speed of extrusion.
- Locate defects on extruded products.
- Check for conformance to specifications.
- Operate and maintain machines, inspecting and packing final product.
- Assist with lab work for product research and development.
- General warehouse duties including inventory management and production floor cleaning & maintenance.
