About The Position

Support production area and assist extrusion operators by performing various duties according to established VEKA standards to ensure quality products and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

GED, High School Education, or Previous Work Experience.
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Veka forklift license.
Ability to operate various forklifts.
Ability to read tape measure.
Ability to use saws, pneumatic nail guns, and various hand tools.
Organizing skills.
Good Oral Communication skills.
Ability to work Under Pressure.
Drive & Initiative.
Flexibility.
Timeliness.

Responsibilities

Adhere to safety requirements and report any unsafe situations to the Supervisor.
Verify product line, and properly band, seal, and bar-code racks, bundles, crates, and/or boxes of finished goods.
Visually inspect profiles for defects and general appearance.
Notify Extrusion Operator Technician, Supervisor, or Quality Assurance Inspector of any quality problems.
Prepare empty racks with protective materials.
Move full racks of material to designated packaging areas.
Transport finished product and scrap to designated areas.
Set up and transport empty racks.
Set up scrap Gaylord boxes and replace full ones.
Measure, cut, and build wooden packaging units for crating.
Complete crates for Veka Products, Decking, and Fencing, including sealing and banding.
Cut cardboard and banding as needed.
Empty saw drawers on Extruders.
Change out Nail Fin slug and chipper drums.
Empty trash.
Maintain housekeeping of the assigned work area.
Assist Operators and fill in for breaks.
Assist operators in packaging profiles neatly and properly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
