About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on a metalizer with additional responsibility for all functional finishing assets including S3, S4, rewinder, sheeter, and lever. Lead machine set-ups and changeovers, problem-solving, coordinating preventative maintenance (PMs), and making decisions on machine adjustments. This position will work Monday - Friday 2:45pm-11pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.

  • Must have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause, then communicate/educate the team in a timely manner.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, especially strong MFG Pro transactional skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
  • Strong shipping/receiving system usage and understanding.
  • Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project Management and Time Management skills.
  • Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Loading raw material into the machine and unloading finished product.
  • Determining and controlling the machine cycle, varying and modifying as necessary to create and maintain a quality product.
  • Performing tests and checking product routinely for multiple characteristics, using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against standards that are not readily measurable.
  • Housekeeping of the asset and to maintain quality products.
  • Machine setup of wire, boats and other areas need to be performed on the equipment.
  • Meeting production schedules and programming production sequences for optimal productivity.
  • Following standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher level technical personnel.
  • Monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Maintaining production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
  • Following all health, safety and housekeeping procedures, policies and practices.
  • Consistently working in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers and manufacturing systems.
  • Supporting safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting and supporting other team members in meeting department and site goals including Finishing assets in the department.
  • Participating and sharing in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.
  • Contributing and participating in team decision making.
  • Providing support in project work and other special requests.
  • Working short notice overtime to meet the business demand on the metalizer asset.
  • Obtain a Lift Truck Operator’s license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Become lift truck certified.
  • Perform all other functions, as necessary.
