About The Position

Leggett & Platt Incorporated is seeking a Production Associate to join their Operations team and support their Automotive business. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for the automotive industry, producing items such as Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators, and Massage Systems. This role offers the opportunity to control the operation of single or multiple production machines for manufacturing products and to participate in continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
Ability to understand both verbal and written instruction.
Ability to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes with proper training.
Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds.
Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
Willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts (IATF-16949/ISO-9001:2015, Kaizen, and SMED).

Responsibilities

Controls operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products.
Works in teams on continuous improvement projects.
Operates a grid/lumbar assembly machine that processes straight wire to form a mat used in automotive seating assembly.
Carries completed bundles of approximately 50 pieces to a strapping machine for tying and placement in a shipping container.
Produces quality products and identifies any quality issues.
Notifies the appropriate person to fix machine issues when necessary.
Performs other duties as requested or deemed appropriate.
Conforms with the environmental policy and procedures and with the requirements of the environmental management system.
