About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing aerospace components — including high-precision gears, shafts, and splines — meet stringent quality and compliance requirements. The Shipping and Receiving will inspect machined parts, verify critical documentation, and ensure traceability and conformance for both receiving and final shipment processes. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace shipping/receiving.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Able to read technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Familiar with ERP systems (e.g., CSI, Therefore).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Knowledge of NADCAP special process certifications (e.g., chemical processing, heat treat).
  • Experience inspecting aerospace gears, shafts, or rotary parts.
  • Basic understanding of ITAR/EAR export rules.
  • Forklift or material handling certification

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and hardware for visual conformance
  • Check supplier documentation such as Certificates of Conformance, Material Test Reports, and special process certifications (e.g., heat treat, NDT).
  • Validate incoming products match engineering drawings and purchase order requirements.
  • Verify part traceability and proper identification (labels, part numbers, serialization).
  • Record and isolate non-conforming material
  • Perform visual inspection of aerospace gears, shafts, couplings) before shipment.
  • Check packaging, labeling, and handling, confirm it meets customer, internal, and MIL-STD requirements.
  • Verify shipping documents (Certificates of Conformance, packing slips, export control forms).
  • Work with carriers and production planning to ensure on-time, compliant shipments.
  • Record shipping details in ERP systems
  • Pull raw material, from inventory, for new jobs
  • Communicate to purchasing any material issues which will impact the smooth flow of production
  • Prepare raw material in prescribed dunnage for production
  • Operate forklift and pallet jacks as required
  • Support production through the manufacturing process as required
  • Maintain accurate work orders and ensure that all jobs are accompanied by work order
  • Work with quality control and production leads for any potentially late project
  • Report to the production manager regarding any equipment that is inoperable or in need of maintenance
  • Keep manufacturing work area(s) clean and organized
  • Expedite work to the production floor as necessary
  • Maximize efficiency at each work center by moving work in process into each work center and finished goods out of the area
  • Provide driver assistance to load and unload trucks and ensure it is stored in the proper location
  • Ensure material for each job is on schedule and in the proper location
  • Prioritize jobs through the release process
  • Identify areas for process improvement, cost and waste reduction
  • Participate with teams to address and correct problems which arise
  • Participate in 5S in the area
