About The Position

QXO, Inc. is seeking a Production Associate to join their team. This role involves operating metal fabrication equipment to produce roofing components, reading blueprints, inspecting finished products, and maintaining machinery. The associate will also assist with inventory management, maintain a safe work environment, and operate warehouse equipment for material handling. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, verifying order contents, and maintaining inventory. A commitment to safety and a clean work environment is essential.

Requirements

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or building supply industry preferred.
• Ability to operate fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical skills and understanding of basic measurements and tolerances.
• Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment; warehouse experience preferred
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Commitment to providing an outstanding experience to customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective verbal and written communication and a customer-first mindset
• Reliable transportation to and from work, with the ability to consistently work early morning hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate metal fabrication equipment (shears, brakes, rollers, and cutting machines) to produce roofing components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements to ensure accuracy in production.
• Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Demonstrate a daily commitment to safety and adhere diligently to all safety protocols, while always wearing appropriate PPE
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and organizing metal sheets and related materials.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Operate Warehouse equipment to load, unload, and move materials in warehouse and yard
• Work outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions
• Verify order contents and maintain documentation
• Inspect, organize, maintain, and track inventory
• Preserve safe and clean work environment which includes cleaning and painting
